AlcoHelp celebrating £17,000 funding boost

13 August 2014

AlcoHELP has received £10,000 from Awards for All, £5,000 from the Essex Community Fund, and £2,000 from the National Council for Social Concern.

Terry Martin, trustee of AlcoHELP said: “This funding is a fantastic boost for AlcoHELP, as we are a voluntary organisation entirely run on donations and grants. This will support our crucial work in schools across Essex, educating children and young people on the dangers of alcohol and other substances.

“Earlier this year we celebrated our 10th anniversary, and we have worked with more than 100,000 children and young people since we started. By making sure that that they are better informed, we have given them to tools to make better choices and have a better quality of life, health and well-being.”

The funding means that Alcohelp will be able to continue their work educating schoolchildren across Essex on the dangers of alcohol, as well as expanding its workshops.

These include running pilot workshops about drugs and legal highs in the new school year, as well as using the funds to recruit more volunteers.
